WARDOGS UGC questions: what should players check before downloading custom content?

Closed thread Closed by archive

Does WARDOGS support much community-created content?

I've seen people use UGC to mean different things. Sometimes they mean custom maps or skins, other times they mean something completely different.

Before downloading anything, I'd want to know whether it's officially supported and where the legitimate community resources are.

Anyone know what questions a new player should check first?

First question is whether the game actually supports that type of content. Don't assume every game has a modding system.

And use whatever official community or distribution channels the game identifies. Random mirrors are a bad idea.

People need to stop calling every third-party program a mod. Those aren't necessarily the same thing.

Agreed. A supported map editor and a random executable from a file-sharing site are very different situations.

OP here. The terminology is what confused me. I'll check whether the game has an actual supported content system first.
