WARDOGS HWID Spoofer: Do You Need One?
A spoofer is not magic and it is not for everyone. This article explains what hardware IDs are, how it relates to WARDOGS' anti-cheat, and what to check first.
Hardware IDs are the serial numbers and identifiers your PC reports about itself: disk serials, network adapter addresses, GPU identifiers and similar. Some anti-cheat systems use them to recognize a machine, not just an account. That is the situation an HWID spoofer is built for.
What WARDOGS uses
Steam lists WARDOGS as using kernel level anti-cheat, and the game runs Easy Anti-Cheat. Bulkhead's playtest privacy notice also says it works with a third party anti-cheat provider to detect cheating and multiple account behavior. Whether bans in the game are tied to hardware now or in the future is something only the developer can confirm, so treat it as an open question and do not assume either way.
What a spoofer does
A spoofer changes the identifiers your PC presents. The HWID Spoofer (2) product page describes changing disk serials, MAC addresses, GPU IDs and other identifiers, so a banned machine can appear as a new one.
It does not do three things:
- It does not remove a ban on your account.
- It does not make cheating safe.
- It does not fix a ban that is tied to your Steam profile.
When people use one
Most buyers fall into one of two groups. Some have already been hardware banned in another game and want a clean start. Others want protection before they ever use a cheat, so a single ban does not follow the whole PC.
What the product page says
Based on the current HWID Spoofer product page:
- It lists support for Easy Anti-Cheat games, plus Ricochet and several other anti-cheats
- Plans shown are 1 week at $15 and 1 month at $35
- Instant delivery, free updates during your key and 24/7 support are included
- HVCI, Core Isolation, TPM and Secure Boot are required on Windows 10 or 11
- Always check live status before launch, especially after a game or anti-cheat update
WARDOGS is not named individually in the supported list, so confirm status with support if you want specifics for this game.
A fair way to decide
If you have never been banned and you are not using any third party tools, you do not need one. If you have been hardware banned elsewhere, or you want an extra layer between your PC and a possible ban, a spoofer is worth reading about.
Paired with a WARDOGS cheat, it is one more thing to keep updated, so check status regularly.
